Thibaut Mathieu started his career as an art director in an advertising agency, managing the "luxury" budgets such as Paco Rabanne and Cacharel.
Thibaut Mathieu then carried on as an AD in commercials producing companies as an employee before he became a founding partner of the Cake Films Company.
He has worked with established directors such as Bettina Rheims or David Lynch but he has also focused on the development of young French and foreign filmmakers on the French advertising market. Soon he was working on the design and art direction of films for brands such as Dior, Cartier, YSL, Trussardi.
In 2003, Thibaut Mathieu created Cakedesign, a visual communication agency specialized in luxury and design. At this time he met Philippe Starck who invited him to collaborate on many projects while in parallel he continued to develop his own activities for clients such as Baccarat, Kenzo Parfums or YSL Beauté.
Since 2003, the Cakedesign agency has worked on many other projects (corporate identity, advertising campaigns, packaging, brand repositioning, brochures, books, etc.) for brands such as : Azzaro Couture, Baccarat, Paco Rabanne, Nina Ricci, Hennessy, Unibail Robamco, Lenôtre, Le Centre Culturel de Bilbao, Designer?s days, La Ville de Venise, Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, Georg Jensen, Giorgio Armani parfums, Rizzoli, Glenmorangie, Johnnie Walker, Ruinart, Lancôme, McDonald's, Chaumet, Marithé & François Girbaud, Dior, Flammarion, Chanel, Dom Perignon, Veuve Clicquot, LVMH, Skira, etc.
